Today there is such a chill in the air in New England and it's Sunday, so there might be a fire in the fireplace this evening. It's the best kind of day for a fire, before the heat is turned on. In the dead of winter I tend to not light a fire as often as Spring and Fall, because the fire embers burning out create such a draft in the house until they die (and hello!! there goes my heat up the chimney). An alternative is this look for either a non working fireplace or dead of winter fireplace. I like the big white chunky candles, but if you have a vintage candelabra, and who doesn't at this point, you can use that instead.
