Signature of All Things by Elizabeth Gilbert

is the first book that I have literally not been able to put down in years.  It's about - well... botany, love, loss, family, discovery, travel, lonliness set in the 18th and 19th centuries. If you have read Eat, Pray, Love, don't think it's a carbon copy.  It is fiction and in the complete opposite direction of her previous writing.  It's stunning to know that anyone could have all this information inside of one!  Rich characterizations, so much botanical knowledge - in my book, it's a masterpiece.
