Oscar 2013

Some Oscar thoughts:

Jennifer Lawrence looked the best of the women.  Plus the fact she is really cool.
Who falls and still looks good.  Jennifer Lawrence.
Loved that Argo won Best Pic.  What a great thriller.
Loved that Life of Pi took home 4 Oscars, the film was amazing.  Book even more so.
Seth McFarlane was horrid, I just don't get his humor.
Sally Field should have won Best Actress in Lincoln.
If she couldn't win, then Quvenzhané Wallis, above (Beasts of the Southern Wild) was my second choice.  Talk about poise.  Wow!
Tommy Lee Jones stole the show in Lincoln, he deserved Best Supporting Actor.
Silver Linings Playbook was a good movie, not great.  And Bradley Cooper, eh?  Does nothing for me.

Think Spring

It is literally the dead of winter, but when the sun comes out, doesn't it feel kind of spring-y?  Anyway, here are some cute bags from Etsy to liven things up.  32 bucks.

Lands' End for Easter

This is a mini beach towel from Lands' End that sells for $18.  Kinda cute for an Easter basket.  Even cuter with monogramming.

Even if Barneys is not your thing, check it out for that ONE statement piece that you will just love and cherish.  'Oh, where'd you get that?  Oh, Barneys actually' Cool!

Knick Knacks

On weekends, I make it a point to hit an estate sale or two in my area.  What do I need, really nothing, but I love to poke and look at the surroundings and dream about what the persons life is/was.  And sometimes, pick up some Frette pillowcases for $1 or $2.  Yes, I need those, and I am even willing to iron them each week.  Believe it or not, it's fun!  So anyhow, I peruse sites online such as estatesales.org and take a look at what is offered before I head out.  Today I was looking at one that was filled to the brim with knick knacks/objects d'art/dust collectors/whatever.  Just horrible.  Conversation with self before I enter a sale, 'no knick knacks', no matter how cool.  Well, maybe some horns are ok, but nothing else.  I was there once.  One thing from each trip we made for the last 40 years X 3 - that's a lot of 'things' to be strewn around.
